Alaska’s coastal brown bears

Every summer for millennia the majestic landscapes of Alaska have been the stage for one of nature’s unrivaled spectacles. Millions of salmon return to spawn in the wild rivers and streams where they hatched years before. A migration that redistributes nutrients from the ocean to the land and provides sustenance for the local wildlife and human communities all along Alaska and the PNW coast. But first the salmon must deal with the bears in a nature story that is interwoven like the braided rivers that cut through the Alaska wilderness.
