Enrique Aguirre is an award winning wildlife and nature photographer, he currently lives and works in beautiful Marin County, California (San Francisco Bay Area), and when he isn't behind the camera or editing on his Mac he is diving, hiking, swimming, running, trying to find the best eggs Benedict in town or catching up on sleep.

It all started when…

"Photography has been an integral part of my life since I was 14 and begun doing my own b&w film and print processing in the school lab.

In the year 2000 I started a personal project to document the wildlife of the coastal areas of the Atlantic Ocean. From Arctic Norway to the Antarctic Peninsula, from the Straits of Gibraltar to the Caribbean, I have traveled to locations such as the Gulf of St Lawrence in Canada to photograph harp seals, South Georgia in the Southern Atlantic to work with the wandering albatross or the Silver Banks to snorkel with humpback whales."

I HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO WITNESS MANY NATURAL WONDERS, FROM AMAZING SUNSETS OVER THE FROZEN ANTARCTIC OCEAN TO GIANT GRIZZLY BEARS CHASING SALMON IN AN ALASKAN RIVER, AND ALWAYS FELT COMPELLED TO PICK UP MY CAMERA AND MAKE A VISUAL RECORD OF THOSE MOMENTS. THIS WEBSITE IS THE PRODUCT OF THAT WORK"

Available for licensing through various image banks and photo libraries, Enrique's photographs are published regularly in books, magazines, calendars, and websites.
